Of course there is St. Valentine and the day set aside for lovers and Hallmark and chocolates and florists and jewelers, etc. . . . Now I sent cute little Hoops & Yo Yo cards to my grand kids, but being a single person, I don't think too much about celebrating or spreading the love. In fact I heard on the radio this morning that if government offices don't close, it's not truly a holiday! I'll buy that! It is kinda in the same league as Ground Hog's day, also in Feb, but Hallmark hasn't put their "mark" on it yet! Could be past experiences, but the 14th of Feb makes me itch. There is some good news! The weather man says our highs for the next week will be above 32 for a change a pace. Do you suppose the "ground hog" was right and spring is hiding just around the bend in the road. Boy I hope so! I love spring and all things melting . . . Of course the melting brings another nemesis to the fore front. Ice jams are everywhere! It seems its very contagious this year, be it private or business property, icicles are growing and growing. Reminds me of Dr. Zhivago!
Melting is also on the minds of those people living anywhere near water, rivers, creeks, lakes, puddles. The expectation is that a good portion of farm land, North Dakota as a whole, could be under water again this spring. The filling of sand bags has already started. Any of you see the movie Water World?
I love plotting and planning for spring and summer. I have caught a good case of spring fever and am planting seeds in house pots in preparation for planting outside sometime in mid May. Drawing plans for an arbor for the south deck in hopes of covering it with morning glories and sipping vino in the shade some time in August. 4 more weeks until spring arrives ! YAYEEEE!
Time for me to sign off the heart channel. Love the one you're with!
